Instagram Is Not Letting Me Log In — How to Fix It?
When you use Instagram to market your business, the timing of your posts plays a huge factor in determining how many Instagram views you can get for that post. If your brand caters to local people you might have more than one window in a day to make the most out of your post. But for the brand that caters to an international market, there is usually only one golden time when they can engage their Instagram followers the most. Imagine if Instagram throws a log-in error at a time like this; yes, it is frustrating to the core.
But here is a thing to consider: Early in 2018, the number of Instagram downloaders reached the mark of 1 billion. What with this sort of tremendous activity, the poor app is bound to lose it at times. Cut it some slack and try the following steps outlined below to fix your Instagram log-in issue.
The many log-in errors and their solutions
Instagram log-in errors are not limited to a single type. Many Instagram downloaders have reported various types of issues they have faced while signing into their accounts.

Back to the basics: Username and Password
Before you shoot that angry email to Instagram, you should check if the username and password you are entering are correct. Now, you may be under the impression that they are correct, but sometimes we tend to make typographical errors or leave the caps lock key activated.
Fix: This is no rocket science. Carefully reenter your username and password and see if you are able to log-in.
The suspicious log-in attempt’ message
Instagram is wired in a way so that it can remember the device that you usually use to log in to your account. If you suddenly switch devices, the app may deny you access unless you provide some more information. This is done purely for security reasons, and you can mitigate it fast.
Fix:
When such an error occurs, Instagram will send you two response messages:
1. It was me
2. It wasn’t me
Click on ‘It was me’ and log into your account using your credentials. In case, it wasn’t you, click on that option and reset your password and username using the reset link that Instagram will send you.
You don’t know your Instagram username and password because you signed in via Facebook
Clearly, you have been lazy. Imagine a scenario when you cannot log into Facebook because of a given error. This means that you will not be able to log into Instagram either as you did not create a separate account for Instagram and simply logged in via Facebook.
Fix: You have to reset your username and password either via Facebook or your email account.
1. First, click on ‘Forgot Password’.
2. Instagram will ask you for any one of the following three things: your email id, your username, or your phone number.
3. Provide your email address and reset your password using the link sent by Instagram.
User not found
Well, this is serious. Many people reported that one fine day, their Instagram profiles just vanished. On searching, they found that their profile photos and usernames had been changed.
They realized that their account had been hacked. If such a thing has happened, immediate report it to Instagram. But, if that is not the case, here is how some users have claimed to be able to fix it.
Fix:
1. Go to your desktop and access Instagram. Do not use your mobile phone.
2. Click on ‘Forgot Password’.
3. Try to have a rest link sent to your email address by providing it.
4. Instagram might not send you a rest link in the first step, so repeat this step if necessary.
5. The minute you get the reset link, complete all the steps to retrieve your account.
Sometimes Instagram freezes accounts for many reasons. Please do not download tools like the Instagram private viewer as they can plant bugs, making your Instagram malfunction. If the problem persists, contact Instagram’s help center.
The response ‘Sorry, there was a problem with your request’
so you are constantly getting this message while logging into your account? This could happen if Instagram blocks your account for content that they might have identified as malicious. There is a chance that you can still access your account via a computer.
Fix:
1. Go to any browser using a desktop.
2. Log into your account.
3. Go to edit profile
4. Select ‘Temporarily Disable Account’
5. As the reason, choose the option that closely resembles a log-in issue.
6. Reactivate your profile after some hours.
These steps should help you to log in from your phone again.
Another fix:
1. Log into your Instagram account via a browser.
2. Unlink Facebook if you have it linked to your Instagram account.
3. Go to a new tab and create a new Facebook account.
4. Log into Instagram via that new Facebook account
5. Now go to your phone and delete the Instagram application.
6. Reinstall it on your phone and log into Instagram using the new Facebook account you created.
Other things to try
After trying everything, if you still have no luck with logging into your Instagram account, try doing the following things.
● Go to your phone’s settings and choose ‘Applications’. Go to Instagram and clear the cache. What with all the Instagram comments, likes and views, the app is bound to accumulate unnecessary data.
● Get a new update if one is available.
● Check if your phone’s time and date are set correctly.
● Check if you have a working internet connection.
● Delete the app and install it again.
● Switch off and switch on your phone and then access the app.
